“The Hemingway”: Pink Grapefruit, Amped Up With Vodka

Hemingway VerticalThis cocktail, from the Algonquin hotel lobby bar, is simple: Pink Grapefruit juice and vodka, with a little simple syrup to take off the edge. Here’s our version, inspired by the original. (Similar to the classic cocktail The Greyhound.)

WHAT YOU NEED: 

2 shots Stolichnaya Vodka, or similar

4 ounces Pink Grapefruit Juice

1 tablespoon Simple Syrup (See our recipe for simple syrup on this site.)

Sugar Rimmed Glass

HERE’s WHAT YOU DO:

In a cocktail shaker full of ice, combine two shots of vodka, four ounces of grapefruit juice, and a tablespoon of simple syrup.

Shake and strain into a martini glass, or serve on the rocks in a traditional cocktail glass.
