Sip A Raspberry Lemon Parker at The Algonquin’s “Blue Bar”

The Algonquin’s revamped “Blue Bar” is a fusion of traditional wood paneled walls and leather upholstery bathed by a wall of blue light. But it’s the pinkish glow of their “Raspberry Lemon Parker” cocktail that really got our attention.

Drinks at the historic NYC hotel bar typically range between about $17 and $22. So why not try one of their inspired cocktails at home? This one is three simple ingredients, shaken and poured into a Martini glass. The Blue Bar waiters usually bring over a small bowl of snack mix. But since you’re at home, you have our permission to grab a big handful right out of the bag. (Okay, maybe just use a bigger bowl.)

WHAT YOU NEED

3 parts High End Vodka (They use Svedka)

1 part Chambord

1 teaspoon Lemon Juice

Garnish with a raspberry. (I’d use a black raspberry, the darker color will pop out of the drink more!)

WHAT YOU DO

In a cocktail shaker full of ice, add vodka, Chambord, and lemon juice. Shake and serve in a martini glass.

TOO STRONG? DON’T PANIC!

Cut it down with Cranberry juice.

WANT ANOTHER OPTION?

Chambord now makes their own Chambord flavored vodka. It doesn’t get much simpler than that.

WANNA DRESS IT UP?

Give the glasses a sugared rim before adding the cocktail. Simply pour a bit of lemon or lime juice onto a small plate, or lightly wet the glass rim with a lemon or lime wedge that has a small slit in it. Pour some sugar onto a plate and dip the glass rim into the sugar. It will sweet up the drink deliciously.
